| NCEMNA has implemented a Research Training and Mentoring (RTM) program that matches 25 mentors with 50 mentees according to research interests and geographical location. If you are interested in participating in NCEMNA’s RTM program please complete the Mentee Application or Mentor Application today.
If you are selected as a mentor or mentee, travel, food and lodging to our 3rd National conference in San Antonio, Texas, March 16-18, 2007, will be covered. Forty Five additional Attendance Incentive Scholarships for San Antonio-area students and faculty may be requested through school deans and directors. The goal is to increase the number of ethnic minority nurse researchers who are prepared to conduct research within a culturally competent model of care. On Friday, August 11, 2006, at the NBNA Thirty Fourth Annual Institute and Conference, NCEMNA Sponsored a symposium focused on research by minority nurse investigators on strategies to increase the number of minority nurse investigators; on evidence based research; on the application of evidence based research in nursing practice; and on how research and practice are applied at nursing schools.

That's because long-term hostility could damage lung function and speed up the natural decline in lung power that comes with age, investigators say.
"The findings are not unexpected," said Dr. Norman Edelman, chief medical officer at the American Lung Association. "There's lots of biological plausibility, lots of mechanisms by which this could take place."
The study was published in the Aug. 31 online edition of Thorax.
Hostility and anger have been strongly linked with many other health problems in older adults, including heart disease and asthma .....Full Story
