ONS Foundation Major Research Grants

2005 ONS Foundation Symptom Management Research Grants - (RE21) Letter of Intent due: August 15, 2005 Applications due: September 15, 2005 Purpose: A major goal of the ONS Foundation is to increase understanding of appropriate symptom management for people with cancer. Applications are invited for research proposals which focus on increasing understanding of and management of understudied symptoms and/or symptom clusters in diverse populations and across settings. Priority will be given to proposals that address management of symptoms and/or symptom clusters that include dermatologic problems in cancer patients.Examples of symptom clusters include dermatitis, pain, and sleep/wake disturbances or fatigue, depression, and sleep/wake disturbances. Other symptom clusters and symptoms will be considered. Justification must be provided for selecting the cluster and/or the rationale for the research needed for the symptom. Award: Two $50,000 two-year grant awards .....Full Story


UAMS Acknowledges NCEMNA Mentor
Congratulations to Junior Student, Miriam Richard, who has just received word that she was accepted as a 2005 Mentee by the National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurses Associations, Inc. This honor means that Miriam will represent and be sponsored by UAMS College of Nursing to attend the March 2005 NCEMNA National Conference in Washington, D.C. Dr. Carmen Ramirez will serve as Miriam’s mentor for this experience. This is a wonderful learning opportunity for Miriam .....Full Story
