December 10th, 2009 -
Nurses Request Funding Priority from President Obama
|

NCEMNA joined a total of 46 organizations from around the nursing community, representing over 842,000 registered nurses, advanced practice registered nurses, nurse executives, nursing faculty, and students, sent a joint letter to President Obama. The letter, dated November 24, 2009, thanked the President for the significant investments his administration has made so far to strengthen the nursing workforce and requested continuing support by making nursing a priority on the budget for the 2011 fiscal year. The groups cited the continuing shortage of RNs and APRNs and the demand for their care as justification for the additional funding as he continues addressing challenges to our healthcare system and healthcare reform plans.
